Just wanted to explain a little about why I chose the name
“A Touch of Gilead”
As some of you may know, I also own a business making all natural soaps, lotions, lip balms, etc. which we named Balms Of Gilead.
So I wanted the two to tie in together, but be separate.
As they are two different branches of the same concept, promoting health and wellness and self-healing and care.
But why “Gilead”?
Well for many reasons.
Gilead is, at large, a Biblical reference.
It’s a Hebrew word meaning “Hill of testimony” and that’s what I want my businesses to be, a Mountain from which to Testify to healing, self-healing, wellness & care.
“Balm of Gilead” is a reference to a balm or salve made from the leaves of the Gilead tree (or shrub) that is claimed to have mystical healing properties.
(Hence why we chose it for the other business, making balms & lotions to heal and sooth the body and senses)
But why “A Touch of Gilead”?
“There is a balm in Gilead– From the Prophet Jeremiah 8:22
To make the wounded whole
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul”
So Balms of Gilead heals the physical wounds and A Touch of Gilead heals the soul and spirit.
I am aiming here to use the Reiki, Home/business Blessings, Classes & Divination to aid in the promotion of Spiritual advancement of others!!!
It’s a Spiritual reference that gives Testimony (see where I’m going with this?) to my Christian (Catholic) heritage and upbringing that will always be a part of me and who I am.
It is my Ancestry and therefore my foundation and a huge part of why and who I am today.
Especially since it comes from a Prophet, prophets who make testimony of Faith and proclaim the future.
Two things I aim to make happen here. As Reiki is, by and large, powered by Faith (in whatever form that may be for you).
So it has deep and powerful meaning, at least for me, about who I am, where I’ve been and come from and where I’d like to go.
It speaks of the mission I have set out to accomplish, to help people climb mountains and proclaim love and healing to the world!
